The Chairman and Managing Director of Kuwait Finance House (KFH), Bader Abdul-Mohsen Al-Mukhaizeem, discussed with Mr. Stephen Green, The Head of HSBC Group , the methods of developing the relations and the fields of cooperation between both sides. Green visits Kuwait to celebrate the second year since the opening of HSBC branch in Kuwait.
Green announced, during a meeting that included KFH General Manager Mohammed Al-Omar, Youssef Nasr, The President of HSBC in The Middle East, and Nick Nicola, The President of HSBC in Kuwait, that he highly appreciates KFH and its essential role in developing the Islamic financial services industry. "HSBC is honored by the cooperation with KFH, and would like to see it intensify," said Green. He also stated that he believes there is an immense potential for the market, as it becomes more liquid and more sophisticated. Islamic banking will become a main stream financial service.
On his behalf, Al-Mukhaizeem welcomed Green's visit to KFH and said that it's an opportunity to share whatever ideas are available to boost the cooperation between the two banks. This cooperation witnessed a huge leap in many fields, especially when KFH started to expand globally. KFH has also built strategic relations with a number of financial firms and major international banks, which include HSBC. He added that during this year and the previous ones, there was cooperation with the bank in many deals, whether through KFH, or its subsidiaries in Bahrain, Turkey and Malaysia, which means that we have many opportunities to work in several markets, and with various partners.
Al-Mukhaizeem said, "What awaits us is much bigger and better than what we have already accomplished during the last period, in spite of its importance and the major role it played in our path of excellence and success that went side by side with KFH since its founding. We hope that this visit, plus the continuous relation between HSBC and us, will be an extra push towards more coordination and cooperation. Islamic financial services are capable of satisfying the different needs of the market, by offering them distinguished quality services that are up to the level with what other major international banks offer."
Al-Mukhaizeem honored Stephen Green and offered him a commemorative gift as a token of appreciation for his visit. He added that KFH is ready to continually support and lend technical advice to HSBC branches, which offer Islamic financial services that help in offering the best service possible.
