Kuwait Finance House (KFH) Marketing and Public Relations Manager Fahad Al-Mukhaizeem announced that KFH supports the World Diabetes Day on 14th November through organizing an awareness campaign for this dangerous disease, in order to limit the increasing rates of diabetics in Kuwait; in addition to organizing meetings and lectures to warn against the disease, explain its stages, and the means of preventing diabetes. He added in a press release that the large numbers of diabetes in Kuwait show that 20-30% of Kuwaitis are diabetic, not to mention that 7 million people become diabetic every year around the world. Such figures prompt the collective efforts to limit the spread of the disease by following preventative measures that prevent the onset while assisting diabetic people at the same time to deal correctly with it. Such an approach will limit its complications and minimize its effect on the life of the diabetic person.
Furthermore, Al-Mukhaizeem mentioned that the awareness campaign will approach the people via several messages. The first message will show the symptoms of diabetes, the second message will focus on the main reasons that cause the disease, such as lack of sports, eating unhealthy food, and gaining weight, in addition to the inheritance factor. The third message will offer recommendations that minimize the chances of being affected by the disease, such as practicing sports for 30 minutes daily, which limits diabetes by 40%.
Al-Mukhaizeem noted that KFH is eager to support the abilities of the society through participating in supporting fields of health, education, youths, charity and developmental projects, and other projects that develop the abilities of the society. He also applauded the efforts exerted by the Ministry of Health and Dasman Diabetes Research Center.
