The General Manager of Zakat House Abdul Qader Al-Ojail praised Kuwait Finance House (KFH) for its continuous contributions to support Zakat House, which allows it to shoulder its charitable responsibilities and play its humanitarian role in supporting numerous charitable institutions. He applauded KFH for allocating a sum of money every year for Zakat House, which goes hand in hand with the bank’s role in social responsibility in Kuwait and overseas.
Al-Ojail made those statements after receiving the donation cheque from KFH’s Deputy Chairman Sameer Al-Nafeesi worth KD 4.560 million, and noted that there is constant coordination between the concerned committees in Zakat House and KFH to channel donations to their legitimate outlets, which leads to the spreading of cooperation and benevolence among society members.
Meanwhile, Al-Nafeesi stressed KFH’s keenness to shoulder its social responsibility role, since KFH is a leading Islamic financial institution that believes that money is an instrument to serve the society. He added that KFH’s annual support to Zakat House is a way to express gratitude towards the society that supported KFH, and that through such donations, the society reaps the fruits of supporting KFH, whether in the form of specialized Islamic financial services and products, or in the form of social contributions in various fields. He stressed that Kuwaiti people were raised on supporting other nations in various conditions, and lauded the spirit of cooperation that prevails in Kuwait, in addition to the sterling efforts that result in channeling donations to those in need.
It is worth noting that the donation will be divided as follows: KD 1.8 million for humanitarian aids, KD 1.090 million to execute charitable projects in countries in need, KD 1 million for orphans overseas, KD 500,000 for sick people in need to medicine and treatment, KD 200,000 for education expenses for 666 Islamic Studies students and Al-Azhar University, and KD 50,000 to feed those in need overseas during Ramadan.
The handing of the cheque was attended by Deputy General Manager for Financial and Administrative Affairs Abdul Aziz Al-Bazea.
