Kuwait Finance House (KFH) has participated in the 11th annual session of the World Islamic Economic Forum (WIFE) held in Malaysia to focus on the issues of enhancing the efficiency of Islamic economics.
KFH’s participation stems from its keenness to represent Islamic finance in international conferences and forums in efforts to enrich this industry whilst finding effective ways to improve it, overcome any obstacles and challenges and to achieve greater growth for Islamic finance that is dramatically gaining global momentum.
Investor Relations Senior Manager at KFH, Tareq Alrefaei, spoke, during one of the sessions, on Islamic finance and green technology. He underlined the efforts of Islamic finance in investing in and supporting green technologies and sustainability goals.
Moreover, Alrefaei shed light on KFH being the first Islamic bank in the world and the first bank in Kuwait to issue a sustainability report, affirming that KFH is serious about educating its customers on sustainability and looking for ways to develop financial products and services that are both Sharia compliant and sustainable.
WIEF is the largest gathering in the world on Islamic economics. This year was the largest event with over 3,000 participants from all over the world.
It is worth noting that Kuwait hosted the 4th annual session of WIEF on April 29th 2008 under the patronage of his highness the Amir of Kuwait.
