Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Mostafa Al-Shamali applauded Kuwait Finance House (KFH) for its leading role in the field of Islamic banking worldwide, which makes it a source of pride for Kuwait, and serves as a pillar to turn Kuwait into an Islamic finance hub. He added while inaugurating KFH’s branch in Rawda, that KFH’s overseas achievements and successes show that the private sector is capable of excelling whenever there is an opportunity. He asserted that the government is keen during the coming period to offer the private sector an encouraging and productive work environment that is based on stability and trust, in addition to encouraging Kuwaiti capital in local investments, and foreign investors. He stressed that the government works relentlessly to boost the national economy, and praised KFH for its role in recruiting Kuwaiti youths. He went on to say that granting youths a full opportunity through offering them a career that meets their ambitions, will lead to creating local bankers who can play a role in the development of Kuwait. He highlighted the fact that the government supports the private sector and encourages it to recruit more Kuwaiti graduates, since investing in people is the best form of investments.
Meanwhile, KFH CEO Mohammed Al-Omar mentioned that the accurate execution of plans and policies will cement KFH’s status in the local and global markets. He added that most profit indicators showed an increase by end of Q3, which reflects KFH’s successful strategy and accomplishments, despite current economy circumstances. He called for further efforts to ensure steady growth for KFH shareholders and clients, and asserted that development efforts are being exerted in all fields. He went on to say that the inauguration of the branch after its renovation is an example of those efforts that include facilities, service centers, and human resources on all levels, not to mention systems and e-services. He noted that the restructuring program will serve as a platform to allow KFH to soar into new horizons.
Moreover, Al-Omar renewed his call for the government to increase its expenditure and offer mega projects to boost the economy and the private sector, in addition to establish a civilized and social development that are based on real economy. He asserted that KFH is keen to react positively to any governmental initiatives, and hoped that the government would succeed in forming a national economic program that can turn Kuwait into an important financial center, as per His Highness the Amir’s request.
